Eat to Live and never live to Eat

by praveen
(Kottayam, Kerala, India)

Eating everything like chocolates, ice cream, butter, chicken, beef, etc. was my hobby. When I had ice cream, I are as much as I like. Beef and mutton was my weakness.

Is it an eating disorder? I would ask this question to my friends and relatives. They gave me advice, telling me always to control! I was not that much overweight, just 90 kilograms.

Later I understood it was an eating disorder and I wanted to escape from that. I feared about cholesterol, heart diseases, high blood pressure, etc. when I heard such stories from my friends.

So now I have controlled eating and I escaped from the horror of a full-blown eating disorder. Now, when I want chocolate, I will also eat oats that contain fiber, which is good for digestion and dissolves fat, what I believe is best for my health. When I want an egg, I will avoid the yellow part, which is the worst. I only eat chicken sometimes, maybe once in a month. Also I started eating fruits and vegetables more than any other food items.

One of my friends who is 120 kilogram weight is now taking medicine and fasting. I am advising him to take food with fiber and never avoid eating because that will cause an eating disorder. Sour fruits - for example oranges, grapes, etc. are good because they can make fat soluble and that will result in losing body weight.

I am advising my friend to keep his body mass index properly. Exercise everyday which can digest the fat in the food and help shed pounds. Wheat is better than rice. Eat peas because they can provide proteins which the body needs. Eat only 3 times a day and only small snacks if you feel really hungry.
